Our laboratory studies how neural progenitors give rise to the astonishing diversity of neurons found in the mature nervous system.
We are now particularly interested in the transcriptional and epigentic mechanisms orchestrating the development and homeostasis of the somatosensory system. Gaining insights into these mechanisms is a prerequisite to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for illnesses such as pain disorders.
